Stripe supported countries in October 2026: the full list
Stripe's page of global availability listed 44 countries on 19 October 2026 where a business opens an account in full. Five more, in Africa, are served through what Stripe calls its extended network, and two are in preview. Once its country is on the list, Stripe says, a business can sell to customers anywhere in the world.

What Stripe checks: the country where the company is registered
Stripe ties an account to the country of the business. Its help centre lists what an account takes in that country: a legal entity registered there, a tax ID, an address that receives mail and is no P.O. box, a phone number, a working website and a bank account. The person behind the company may show an ID from any country.
For a founder abroad Stripe adds one rule: when the country of residence differs from the country of the account, identity is proved with a passport. So a founder who lives in Ukraine can represent the Stripe account of an Estonian company, and company formation in Estonia gives you that company.
Two limits stand whatever the company: who you are and what you sell. Stripe's list of prohibited businesses bars people located in, resident in or citizens of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. It bars people on the restricted lists of the United States, the United Kingdom, the EU and the UN. It also bars industries such as gambling and adult content. We read your business against that list before we register anything.
Why an Estonian OÜ: an EU company registered online from abroad
An OÜ is the Estonian private limited company. One person of any citizenship founds it and directs it from any country, and it is a company of an EU member state on Stripe's list. With an e-Residency card, the digital ID Estonia issues to people who live abroad, you sign the application in the e-Business Register online and pay a state fee of €265.
Under § 42 of the Commercial Register Act the registrar reviews that online filing by the next working day. The company then has its registry code, which the bank application and the tax returns use.
Profit kept in the company bears no income tax until it is paid out, which suits a business that reinvests its Stripe revenue.
From e-Residency to the first Stripe payout: 53 to 88 days
The table adds up the published time of each step in calendar days from the day you apply for e-Residency, with the registrar's working day taken as the next day. We prepare the company while the card travels.
| Step | Who acts | Time | Day, from the application |
|---|---|---|---|
| e-Residency application and the state fee, €150 until 31 December 2026, €165 from 1 January 2027 | You, online | 30 minutes | day 0 |
| Identity check | Police and Border Guard Board | 30 days | day 30 |
| Card delivered to your pickup point | Police and Border Guard Board | 2 to 5 weeks | day 44 to 65 |
| Card activated | Automatic | within 24 hours | day 45 to 66 |
| Legal address and register documents | We | 1 day to 1 week | ready by day 44 |
| Application signed, €265 paid | You sign, we prepare | 15 minutes to 1 hour | day 45 to 66 |
| Registry code issued | The registrar | next working day | day 46 to 67 |
| Business account | Bank or payment institution | 1 hour to 1 week | day 46 to 74 |
| Stripe application | You submit, we prepare | set by Stripe | from day 46 |
| First payout | Stripe | 7 to 14 days after the first payment | day 53 to 88 |
Stripe publishes no time for its own review, which comes on top. A founder who already holds a card reaches the first payout 8 to 22 days after signing.
What Stripe asks an Estonian company for, and where each answer comes from
Stripe's verification requirements for a company in Estonia hold the fields below, and payments and payouts wait until they are given. Each answer comes from a document the company holds once registered.
| What Stripe asks | Where the answer comes from |
|---|---|
| Company name, address, phone | Registry card, the Estonian legal address we arrange |
| Company tax ID | Registry code, and the VAT number once issued |
| Website, products, support phone | Your site: business name, what it sells, contact details, refund and cancellation terms |
| Representative: name, date of birth, address, email, phone, job title | You, as the management board member, with your passport |
| Owners and directors | The beneficial owners we enter in the application, the board on the registry card |
| Bank account for payouts | The company's own account |
| Documents on request | Registry card, articles of association, list of shareholders, sent to you after registration |
The information in each document must match the account, so the name, the address and the activity read the same in the register, on the website and in the Stripe form. We write the description of the business once and use it in all three.
We do this for you Company formation in Estonia an OÜ with or without e-Residency
Address and bank account: what Stripe counts as being in Estonia
The register accepts two addresses for a company run from abroad: an Estonian legal address, or the director's address abroad with a contact person in Estonia (Commercial Register Act, § 24). Stripe asks for a physical location in the country of the account where the company receives mail. A company that wants Stripe takes the Estonian legal address, and we arrange it with the registration.
Stripe pays out to an account in the company's name in the country of the Stripe account. Accounts opened in most European countries may use a euro account in another country Stripe supports. The e-Residency programme points founders abroad to a neobank based in the European Economic Area, opened online in 1 hour to 1 week. We send that application with the company's documents.
Rented Stripe accounts and accounts in another person's name
Founders from countries off the list are offered two shortcuts: an account rented from a foreign company, or one opened in a foreigner's name. Stripe's Services Agreement, as last modified on 28 September 2026, forbids the first: a user must not rent, lease or otherwise transfer its rights to a third party. Stripe's prohibited uses cover the second: false information about identity or the business, and payments for a merchant the account does not disclose.
The agreement lets Stripe suspend an account at once on a breach and close one at any time. With an Estonian company in your own name, every answer to Stripe is your passport and your company's documents, and the money belongs to your company.
Tax on Stripe income: what Estonia takes and what your country of residence can take
Estonia taxes the company when it pays out profit, at 22/78 of the net amount, and leaves profit in the company untaxed. Worked example: an OÜ makes a profit of €40,000 in 2026 from its Stripe sales and pays its owner a dividend of €15,600. The company pays €4,400 of income tax (15,600 × 22 ÷ 78) by the 10th of the month after the payout, and the €20,000 left in the company bears nothing. Estonia withholds no further tax from the dividend.
A company managed from outside Estonia is also taxed where it is managed, the Tax and Customs Board says, and e-Residency gives no automatic exemption from that tax. The owner reports the dividend at home, where the Estonian tax in most cases does not count, because the company paid it. A dividend from profit already taxed in a permanent establishment abroad is exempt in Estonia and is still reported in Annex 7 of the TSD return.
The company registers for VAT in Estonia once its taxable sales there pass €40,000 in a calendar year. The rates and the registration are in our Estonia VAT guide.
We keep the books from the month of registration and file TSD by the 10th and the VAT return by the 20th. With you we agree which payment is a board member's fee and which a dividend: accounting in Estonia.
