First year in Cyprus: six steps in order, and how long each takes
- 8–12 working days1
Registration
We get the name approved and file the memorandum, the articles and three forms with the Registrar. You sign digitally.
Company formation in Cyprus - within 60 days2
Tax number
The Tax Registry issues the TIC, the company's tax identification code. The law allows 60 days, and the number comes inside each formation package.
Cyprus corporate tax services - 4–12 weeks3
Bank account
Our application reaches the bank after incorporation. Meanwhile a payment account at Wise or Revolut, ready in 1–5 working days, takes the first invoices.
Cyprus bank account for your company - 4–6 weeks, expected4
VAT number
A company with business clients elsewhere in the EU applies before invoice number one. Every other company applies once twelve months of turnover exceed €15,600.
VAT registration in Cyprus - before the first hire5
First payroll
We put the company on the employers' register ahead of its first hire and declare each newcomer one day before the start. A March salary's tax and contributions are paid by 30 April.
Payroll services in Cyprus - from day 906
First returns
By day 90 we list the owners with the Registrar. After that a VAT return closes every quarter, a year with profit brings provisional tax by 31 December, and month 18 brings the first annual return.
Accounting services in Cyprus
Yearly running cost: each line of a Cyprus company's year and the total
5 costsWhat a Cyprus company pays each year
From its second year a Cyprus company has up to 5 yearly costs. Two have a public price, and the table adds them up. The other three follow the company's size: the auditor quotes the audit, and the office with the secretary and the payroll are fixed in your quote. The company pays its corporate tax, 15% on profit, to the Tax Department.
€350One-off lines, as they come up
One-off lines come up as needed: €350 for VAT registration, €149 for VIES, €200 for each Registrar certificate, from €1,500 for a bank application. Year one also includes the formation package: our guide to the cost of forming a Cyprus company works through two first years.
| Yearly line | What it covers | A year, before VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Accounting and every tax return | Books, four VAT returns, provisional tax, the corporate tax return | from €3,480 |
| Annual return, form HE32 | The Registrar's filing fee | €20 |
| Total of the two | 12 months at €290, plus €20 | from €3,500 |
| Registered office, company secretary | In the formation package for year one, then renewed | Fixed in your quote |
| Audit or review | Signed by a licensed auditor from the file we prepare | €700–1,500, the auditor's fee |
| Payroll | Payslips and the employer's returns | Fixed in your quote |

Doing business in Cyprus: three authorities, two languages and who signs
3 authoritiesEach of them reached through us
Cyprus belongs to the EU, its legal system comes from English common law, and English is used in contracts and at banks. A foreign-owned company deals with 3 authorities, each through us: the Registrar for corporate filings, the Tax Department for tax and VAT, the Social Insurance Services for staff.
2 languagesGreek at the Registrar, English for you
The company's papers come in 2 languages: the Registrar works in Greek, and the Standard package adds an English set of the articles. You open and run the company from abroad: you sign digitally, and a courier carries any paper original the Registrar wants.

What clients write about Legarithm
4.8 on Google from 26 reviews.
…they handled my Cyprus company setup while I was still in London. Smooth remote process and great communication.
We set up a company in Cyprus. Nobody pushed extra services, everything was to the point. They explain things clearly, give a real timeline and help with the tax details.
Everything is well coordinated and clear. Half an hour of the first meeting was more useful than two weeks of trying to work it out myself.
Who does the work

Questions about a company in Cyprus
Which comes first for a Cyprus company, the bank account or the VAT number?
The account. A VAT application states where the company banks, so a payment account at Wise or Revolut, open in 1–5 working days, goes first. The Cyprus bank reviews its own application for 4–12 weeks meanwhile.
Do I need an accountant from a Cyprus company's first month?
Yes. Its books must explain every transaction, the first one included, and the tax number is due within 60 days. A company we registered passes to its accountant with no handover.
What does year one cost for a Cyprus company that registers for VAT?
From €5,678 before VAT on the Starter package: €1,699 for formation, €3,480 for the accounting year, €350 for VAT registration and €149 for VIES. Office and secretary for that year are inside the package.
Can you take a Cyprus company over from another provider?
Yes. You sign one authorisation. We collect the ledgers, the returns already filed and the tax portal access from the present provider, list everything overdue and take the next deadline ourselves.
Which formation package fits a company that will apply to a Cyprus bank?
Standard, at €2,749. It brings the four certificates banks request, each with an apostille, and opening a Wise account with our help is part of it. On Starter each Registrar certificate is ordered for €200 and takes 2–3 weeks to issue.
Can a Cyprus company be opened and run online?
Yes. Your account takes the passport scans and your signatures, and our team files with the Registrar. After registration it shows each month's books, every return awaiting your approval and the next deadline.
