Fujairah offers two free zones—Fujairah (FFZ) for trade/logistics and Creative City for media services with visa packages, as well as options for access to the UAE mainland. Both offer 100% foreign ownership, tax exemptions, lower operating costs than the larger emirates, and zero personal income tax.

Legarithm handles company registration in Fujairah in free zones and on the mainland, including license applications, visa packages, Establishment Card activation, corporate bank account opening, and ongoing compliance coordination.

UAE company formation

Why Fujairah is the quiet powerhouse for your next company

Fujairah doesn’t shout. It ships. It stores. It connects. The only UAE emirate on the Gulf of Oman, it sits on international sea lanes and skips the bottlenecks. That matters for traders, logistics players, and anyone who hates delays more than paperwork.

    Choosing your lane

Go mainland if you want to sell across the UAE, bid for government work, or scale a large local workforce. Go free zone if your model is cross-border, light on premises, and heavy on efficiency. Most investors mix both over time, starting in a zone and graduating to a mainland footprint when local revenue grows.

    FFZ at a glance

Fujairah Free Zone (FFZ) leans into trade, logistics, light industry, and warehousing. Fujairah Creative City Free Zone is the media, marketing, digital, and consulting haven, built for remote-first teams and freelancers. Both zones run lean packages, minimal capital, and quick turnarounds.

    Creative City in one sentence

Fujairah Creative City Free Zone is the media hub launched in 2007 to sit alongside Dubai Media City and twofour54, offering simple company formation for media, music, events, communications, marketing, production, and digital services—no heavy real estate commitments required.

A quick comparison

Jurisdiction Best for Typical advantages
Mainland UAE-wide sales, government contracts, large teams Broad market access, flexible visas, office variety
FFZ Trade, e-commerce, logistics, light industry Fast licensing, warehousing/land, cost control
Creative City Media, marketing, digital, consulting, freelancers Low cost, no mandatory office, multiple visa options

Step-by-step: the company formation playbook

  • Step 01

    Start with the trade name

Reserve it and match it to your activity. Avoid sensitive or misleading terms. Then secure initial approval from the relevant authority (DED for mainland, the free zone authority for zones). If your activity is regulated—think healthcare, education, food, or finance—expect special approvals before final licensing.

  • Step 02

Draft the Articles of Incorporation/Memorandum of Association (MOA)

In Creative City, you sign sets of the MOA in front of an officer; a copy goes to the Creative City office. On the mainland, MOAs are notarized and reflect shareholding, governance, and scope. Keep your MOA clean and aligned with your actual activity.

  • Step 03

    Secure premises

For mainland, an Office Lease Agreement (tenancy contract) is part of the file. In free zones, many packages allow flexi-desk or remote office solutions, but warehouse or land leases are available when operations demand it. Make sure the lease matches your activity requirements.

  • Step 04

Submit the licensing application with all attachments

Once issued, your trade license becomes the backbone document for banking, visas, and contracts. You can open a company bank account after the license and constitutional documents are in hand. Banks run due diligence. Prepare to explain your business model, client profiles, and transaction flows.

  • Step 05

Process the Establishment Card (immigration file)

This can take a few days to over a week. Once issued, you can sponsor visas under the company. Visas are tied to your license and space allocation; free zone packages often include an allowance (Creative City commonly allocates up to five residency visas, subject to package and policy).
