Fujairah Creative City is the media free zone of the emirate of Fujairah. The Ruler of Fujairah set it up by Emiri decree in 2007, and the Creative City Free Zone Authority licenses each company in it. Its office is on the M1 floor of the Twin Towers in Fujairah city.
100%Ownership, forms and the dual license
A foreigner owns 100% of a company here, and the zone sets no minimum share capital. One owner registers an FZE or an FZ LLE, two or more an FZ LLC, and an existing company opens a branch. A company works outside the zone on the zone's no-objection certificate, and a dual license covers the Fujairah mainland.

You sign the articles of incorporation online, and 4 papers arrive by email: the license, the certificate of incorporation, the share certificate and the desk lease. They are expected 1 to 5 working days after the application.

Renewal, amendments and license cancellation at Creative City
10 yearsThe most a company pays for at once
The license runs for one year, and the zone's Rules and Regulations of June 2025 let a company pay for as many as 10 years at once. A renewal takes the zone's form, current passport and Emirates ID copies, a new KYC form and the signed rules.
30 daysBefore expiry the zone stops other requests
We file a renewal early: with under 30 days left on the license the zone processes no other request. An amendment adds or removes an activity, an owner or a signatory, changes the name or upgrades the package, on a notarised resolution of the owners.
3 yearsUnrenewed, and the zone may cancel the license
To cancel the license, the owners pass a resolution, and we cancel every visa and clear the fines. When the last visa holder leaves, the zone takes a deposit that becomes the cancellation fee. The zone may itself cancel a license left unrenewed for 3 years.

180 daysTwo years, and the rule on absence
A Creative City residence visa runs for two years and lapses when its holder stays outside the UAE beyond 180 days in a row. For each visa the zone takes a signed application, a passport copy, a photo and an employment request letter. Health insurance is in place before the visa is stamped.

The Media package licenses a company with no visa for AED 3,999 a year. You open it without a visit, and the flexi-desk in the fee is its registered office.

No yearly audit is compulsory in the zone. Its regulation of 2026 requires audited accounts from a company that claims the 0% rate as a Qualifying Free Zone Person. The auditor holds a UAE license and Federal Tax Authority accreditation.
What tax does a Fujairah Creative City company pay?
Corporate tax at 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it, with 0% on the qualifying income of a Qualifying Free Zone Person. VAT is 5%, with VAT registration in the UAE compulsory from AED 375,000 of taxable turnover in 12 months, and the zone is not a designated zone for VAT.
