What Hamriyah Free Zone is and where in Sharjah it stands
1995Sharjah's industrial free zone
Hamriyah Free Zone is Sharjah's industrial free zone. An Emiri decree created it in 1995, and the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, HFZA, runs it: the authority leases every facility and issues every license.
30 millionSquare metres on the Sharjah coast
The zone covers 30 million square metres on the Sharjah coast and ranks itself the second-largest industrial free zone in the UAE. Its own port is 14 metres deep, with an inner harbour of 7 metres.
6 sectorsFrom oil and gas to a hub for small firms
The zone's land holds 6 sectors: oil and gas, a food park, an industrial manufacturing park, the maritime industry, a logistics park and an accelerator hub for small firms.
100%Foreign ownership, services inside the gates
Ownership is 100% foreign, with full repatriation of capital and profit. Investors come from 163 countries. Banks, a customs office and staff housing work inside the gates.
Every Hamriyah license comes with a facility leased inside the zone, from a desk package to a plot.
Which companies Hamriyah Free Zone is built for
More than 1,200 investors work in this sector here, on 4.6 million square metres of leased land with over 900 storage tanks.
With an industrial license you bring in raw materials, process them and ship the product out. Plots start at 2,500 square metres, and 60% of a plot can be built on.
Plots from 5,000 square metres at the water take shipbuilding, rig fabrication, repair and ship chandlery beside the port.
The Food Park covers 11 million square feet for processing, packaging, logistics and trading, with testing and food-safety training on site.
A trading or service company starts on the Start-up package with one visa. The Accelerator Hub takes firms of up to six people.
A consultancy with a laptop pays less at SPC Free Zone, from AED 5,750 a year. Cargo that flies belongs at Dubai South, beside Al Maktoum International Airport, or within Sharjah at SAIF Zone, beside Sharjah International Airport.
What clients write about Legarithm
4.8 on Google from 26 reviews.
We had long been looking for someone to register a company in the UAE and help with the account. With Legarithm it went as it should: a clear process, help with the documents, no red tape.
Everything is well coordinated and clear. Half an hour of the first meeting was more useful than two weeks of trying to work it out myself.

0%On qualifying income of a company that qualifies

In which emirate is Hamriyah Free Zone located?
In Sharjah, on the coast, around its own port. Its roads link it to all seven emirates and to the neighbouring Gulf states.
What are the benefits of Hamriyah Free Zone?
Full foreign ownership, capital and profit taken out in full and no customs duty on import, export and re-export. Add a port 14 metres deep, land on 25-year leases and the status of a qualified free zone for corporate tax.
How do I renew a Hamriyah Free Zone license?
Once a year through the zone's Leasing and Licensing Department and its investors' e-portal, with the office lease renewed alongside. With a warehouse the yearly lines are AED 3,500 for the license and AED 5,000 for the service fee, and we file the renewal before the date.
Can a Hamriyah Free Zone company sell on the UAE mainland?
It sells abroad and to other free-zone companies on its own license. It reaches mainland customers through a licensed distributor or a mainland branch. Our guide free zone vs mainland in the UAE sets out both routes, and Sharjah's mainland license is on business setup in Sharjah.
Is Hamriyah the cheapest free zone in the UAE?
No. A license here starts at AED 11,000, against AED 5,555 a year at Ajman Free Zone and AED 6,000 at RAKEZ. Companies come to Hamriyah for a 14-metre port and land on 25-year leases, and the fees of 22 zones stand side by side in UAE free zones compared by license fee.
Can I hold a Hamriyah license with an office outside the zone?
No. The zone licenses companies on its own facilities. The smallest are the Start-up package and the e-office of the Hamriyah Business Centre.
