Ownership, tax, visas and cost — here's what a RAKEZ setup gives founders.
Who RAKEZ Is Best For
From solo consultants to traders, digital founders and light-industrial operators, RAKEZ fits a wide range of businesses — expand the profile below that sounds most like you.
Consultant, agency or freelancer
You want a low-cost UAE base with residency and a 3-year investor visa — without a Dubai price tag. A service or freelancer licence on a flexi-desk gets you there.
Trader or e-commerce business
You sell internationally or import/re-export through UAE ports. RAKEZ sits beside Saqr Port and RAK International Airport, with commercial, general-trading and e-commerce licences.
Digital, SaaS or media business
Your clients don’t care which emirate is on the licence. You get 100% ownership and 0% personal tax at a lower cost than a Dubai address.
Manufacturer, light-industrial or logistics operator
You need warehousing or land at sensible rates. RAKEZ’s Al Hamra, Al Ghail and Al Hulaila industrial zones let you scale from desk to factory under one authority.
Founder wanting UAE residency + a tax-efficient base
You want the residency, banking access and 0% personal tax the UAE offers — without paying Dubai-zone premiums.
We'll set up your RAKEZ company efficiently and in full legal compliance.
Our experts guide you through the whole process — licence, visas, banking and tax — so your RAKEZ company is compliant and ready to operate from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have a questions?
How much does a RAKEZ business setup cost?
It depends on your licence type, number of visas and office. Entry-level RAKEZ packages start low and rise with visa quota and space; industrial setups are quoted separately. Rather than a misleading “from” figure, we give you one flat, all-in quote covering licence, visas and our fee after a 20-minute intake call.
Do I need to visit the UAE to set up a RAKEZ company?
Not for the company itself — the licence can be arranged remotely. You may need one short visit for the investor-visa medical, biometrics and Emirates ID, though some visa steps can be done in stages. If you don’t take a visa, the whole setup can be completed without travelling.
Can I run my RAKEZ company without living in the UAE?
Yes. RAKEZ companies can be owned and managed from anywhere, and we renew the licence each year without your presence. The investor visa is optional and doesn’t affect the company’s legal standing — many clients use RAKEZ purely as a UAE trading or holding entity.
Can a RAKEZ company sell directly inside mainland UAE?
Not directly to end-customers. A RAKEZ free-zone company trades internationally and within free zones freely; to sell into the mainland you appoint a local distributor or add a mainland licence. We’ll structure the right route so you stay compliant.
Does RAKEZ suit crypto or fintech businesses?
RAKEZ supports fintech and tech activities, and a RAKEZ entity can operate as a fintech holding or software company. But regulated crypto exchange or custody in the UAE needs a separate VARA licence (a Dubai body). We can advise on the right structure and assist with the VARA route.
Can I add activities or upgrade my licence later?
Yes. You can add business activities, increase your visa quota or move to a larger office as you grow. Adding activities later requires a paid amendment, which is why we list every revenue line on the licence from the start.
What happens to my investor visa if I stay abroad?
A RAKEZ investor visa stays valid as long as you enter the UAE at least once every 180 days. Miss that window and the visa can lapse — a quick trip resets it. The company itself is unaffected either way.
What are the disadvantages of RAKEZ?
The main trade-offs are the Ras Al Khaimah (not Dubai) address, no direct mainland B2C sales without extra structuring, and no in-house financial-services or crypto-exchange licensing (those sit with DIFC, ADGM or VARA). For cost-led traders, consultants and industrial businesses, these rarely matter.
