Curacao gaming license policy has come to the big change. In our latest video, we talk about gambling licenses on the island and break down the big compliance changes coming for its holders in 2026 in accordance with the new National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK). From January 2026:

  • You’ll need a physical office in Curacao. Not just a mailbox, but a real space where you run the business from the island.
  • Starting in 2026, operators will have to have at least one employee full-time in Curaçao, and the person would have to be officially registered there. Then, in the fifth year after the new regulations come into force, three employees will be required.
  • Regulatory demands are getting tougher in terms of reporting, go through independent audits on a regular basis, as well as full compliance with up-to-date AML and Counter-Terrorist Financing rules.

Also, there are certain breaks for the smaller operators which we cover in the new video. Watch the full on our YouTube channel and subscribe for the latest news and thoughts in the law and regulations for your business needs.
